Dunchideock Village HallCeiling RepairsSome years ago, the old plaster work on the roof ceiling failed due to old age and brought down a section of the suspended ceiling. The Village Hall Committee subsequently cancelled all planned events and close the hall until funding had been found and repairs had made the hall safe again.
Although the VH Committee had some £7,000 in their bank, they sought funding from various other sources, getting grants of £1,500 from Cllr Alan Connett and £500 from The Norman Family Charitable Trust (www.nfct.org). In addition, Dunchideock Parish Council approved a contribution of £3,400 from the Parish Council funds along with the maximum £257 grant from the Teignbridge Elector Fund. It also was given £1,400 from Teignbridge Councillor's Community Funds thanks to Cllrs. John Goodey and Kevin Lake. |
