An unknown person or group of persons sent a petition to Teignbridge District Council requesting a Community Governance Review (CGR) to consider:-

All Dunchideock residents have now received the TDC letter explaining the situation and timetable.
- The CGR was discussed at the Parish Council meeting 21st November. 20 members of the public attended. Only some 5 spoke about the topic so surprisingly little was said by the public considering the immensity of this issue. However, the Parish Council determined their views (not unanimous, but by majority). See these in the draft minutes.
- Since these pages are my own personal pages, I'll just say that my proposal was that the PC acknowledges the majority public opinion, the recent 2 years of evidence of no need, the 97% of all the PC money is simply to support the PC itself and the waste and cost of the CGR is such that the PC should resign immediately. Needless to say perhaps, this was rejected by the usual councillors.
- See here for the TDC web page for the CGR.
- Here are the Terms of Reference of the CGR
- Initial consultation started 19 October - ended 15th December 2023.
- The "unknown Dunchideock group" circulated a leaflet which although it contains several factual errors, it is nevertheless informative and available here.
