Village Hall Wall Cut open on School Lane
Parish Council created a gap in this wall so you can reach the defibrillator.
This hacked open gap is risky. Someone, a child, could so easily walk out through here directly into traffic, particularly vehicles coming quickly down the steep hill. However, Devon Highways (they are responsible for our roads) said 25/1/19 that it's not a problem.
The gap is really badly done by hacking the ancient brickwork and stone, patching with glaringly inappropriate cement and tarmac. This is a ridiculous eyesore in the wall, the environment and a blot on the location. Look at the mess on the old brickwork, the slop of cement on the side of the wall, the hacked face of the wall cutting, ....
