Co-option at its best in Dunchideock
Dunchideock Parish Council is currently totally inert. No co-options can take place unless TDC set up a quorate PC using their three district councillors which they can do S91 of LGA 1972.
Everything below is just history, for information pending a new Parish Council being recreated.

I stood for co-option at the 14 July 2020 meeting. Lewis Oxley was co-opted. Well, he lives next door to the chairman, so there's a surprise isn't it? At the voting for the second vacancy, again none of the Cllrs. voted for me, preferring to not co-opt anyone, rather than myself.
The Parish Council met 8 September 2020 to fill the remaining two vacancies. Same process. James Griffin elected. He lives next to Councillor Cook, so there's another surprise.
At the voting for the second vacancy, again none of the Cllrs. voted for me, preferring to have a vacancy than co-opting myself.
At the PC meeting 10 November 2020, same again. Three-line whip so no votes for myself nor Trevor Baker. The vacancy continues.
At the PC meeting 12 January 2021, same again. The vacancy continues.
It is a dismal fact that nobody in Dunchideock actually willingly wants to be part of this dysfunctional clique called the Parish Council.
Hey, ho, that's "democracy". It would be so good if some others in Dunchideock would take an interest in the Parish Council and realise how much this clique cost us, how often they are clueless at meetings, how ineptly they run the Parish Council. But at present, who cares?
